SOME PRESTORY ~ "Standing on the shoulders of giants"
Visionary | Director | Fine Artist | Artographer
Having never taken one art lesson in my life I've acquiesced to being called "self-taught" ~
while knowing that I owe everything to the masters throughout time who I've studied profusely . . .
dissecting their every brush stroke in my mind's eye from my youngest years to date.
Aside from some astounding landscape painters, such as one of my favorites, Frederick Church . . .

most of the artists I've been inspired by have predominantly used the subject of myths and legends
as somewhat of an excuse to paint the human form . . . particularly portraying feminine beauty.
Frederick Church "Rainy Seaon in the Tropics"
Herbert Draper "Icarus"
Especially over the latest years of my career I have considered that I too exalt the feminine with my art. Due to the purity of my artistic studies, I've never had a thought to compare Classical portrayal of the Feminine to blatant exploitation, such as porn, etc.. However, as my growing awareness has revealed, there's a fine line between "exalting" and "exploiting" the Feminine. As such, it can be tricky for a contemporary "living" artist to be considered as pure as the world accepts the Feminine portrayals of our long-dead artists.
For example, my sensuous portrayal below of Persephone in my 2020 work "Between Two Worlds" can seem questionable to some ~ in spite that Persephone's beauty is an integral aspect of the myth. As such, it may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
John William Waterhouse "The Siren"
Thomas Christian Wolfe "Between Two Worlds" (Persephone)
I could exclusively exhibit in more accepting locales, such as Europe or New York. However, alongside my desire to paint what I am inspired to paint without censorship, of equal importance is that the universal messages I convey with my art reach the widest audiences possible. This new series I am embarking on parallels some major personal growth I've recently gone through ...
whereby, what I feel to portray is changing in a way that happens to align with this idea of more "universally" acceptable art. My desire to exalt the Feminine is transforming into wanting to exalt BOTH, the Feminine AND the Masculine . . . specifically in their highest communion together.
And while there may be some element of sensuality in its purest sense ... it is certainly not a key focus for me anymore. The art must portray the message ... which in this case is the highest union of the Masculine and Feminine . . . "Heiros gamos" ... or what Carl Jung coined as "Unio mystica". JOB DESCRIPTION
I describe all of the above mainly because (on this "model" page) the predominant question always ultimately arises ... "Will I be expected to pose nude?" My short answer to that is "no".
Generally, as a model, you should always honor your feelings and intuitions and only do what you are comfortable doing.
While it is an asset for sure if you are confident and comfortable being photographed ~ for this project it may only be on some occasions that I could need some minimal nudity, usually with cloth all around the model ~ whereby the sheerness of the cloth may reveal the model's form slightly.
And here's another example below ~ using an image by one of my favorite artists, Mariska Karto . . .
Yet, in many cases, I am shooting for the face mostly - which, to me, portrays so much of the pathos and emotion behind the message. Fabric will also be used extensively to add emotional intensity.
All that said, I can always have "nude" models pose for anything more revealing if a model prefers I only shoot their face. Again, I will be using Men as much (if not more) than Women in this new series.
And my ideal models are either dancers or actors ... or both ... for, the models will basically be playing parts, as if in a film, where they will convey specific emotions. It's also ideal to use couples when I absolutely need extremely close connection between a man and a woman in the same single shot.
Enough words ...
Here is an example of what a finished piece will look like for this series that I currently call RISEN.
IMAGE COMING SOON
EXPERIENCE
No experience is needed. However, having dance or acting experience will be a great asset to the portraying the emotions and pathos needed for these reference shots.
TIME REQUIRED
Set-up and preparation can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. The actual shoots can be as little as 30 minutes up to several hours. Ample breaks are given as needed, as we want the models to feel totally refreshed and comfortable doing this crucial work for the project.
DOS and DONTS
Women models should wear no make-up or nail polish, with nails ideally being similar "natural" length. Same with hair - let it be natural, as opposed to neatly brushed or manually curled. All jewelry will need to be removed ~ with the exception of nose rings or jewelry that's hard to remove. Time must also be allowed for any visible tattoos to be painted over to match the model's skin color.
COMPENSATION
The minimum paid is $25 per hour ($50 minimum regardless of how short the session ends up being). However, the price can be individually negotiated ... especially when doing more revealing shots, as well as longer hours being required.
Add some studio shots ... with lighting and black cloth, as well as colored cloth over model - either nude or with flesh colored bathing suit on.
Can also add a shot of a tattoo being painted over ...
Plus, nails (polish being removed) ... Jewelry taken off ... all signs of any era in time
Can also show a man taking his part so seriously that he works out to be in most fit shape for his part.
Make-up added (dirt, blood, etc)
